Acrylic finishers are intended to adjust the shine while providing light protection against scratches. Originally it was used for holsters and dipping leather items to give the item a final shine.
Urethane-based finishers such as 4-coat or Liquid Kicks are a clear top coat designed to provide greater protection against scratches and to alter the shine.

Does the finisher dry transparent?
All finishers dry completely transparent. The only thing that changes is the level of shine on your customs.
Why is it that the matte finisher is not matte enough?
Make sure you shake the bottle well each time before use. If you don't do this, the duller may remain at the bottom of the bottle and not get the right composition to get a matte effect.
Why does it feel sticky when completely dry?
Make sure your layers are completely dry between coats. If this is not the case, stickiness can occur if the layers are not cured. The sticky feeling should disappear over time.
This feeling often lasts longer on fake leather surfaces. you can give the surface a very light sanding with a grit of 1000 or higher. This will not affect the texture or paint on your project
Does a finisher prevent the paint from cracking or peeling?
A finisher acts as an extra layer of durability to prevent scratches, not cracks.
